Horizon CF and CGI Russia sign a partnership agreement
29 October 2021, Moscow
Through the agreement, Horizon CF and CGI Russia aim to jointly promote the climate agenda among board members at Russian companies and create the necessary tools to facilitate climate transformations in business strategies. One of the main areas of cooperation will be in providing ESG support for Russian companies and implementing global best practices in embedding the climate agenda into corporate governance practices.

Participation in the Climate Governance Initiative

CGI Russia is the Russian Chapter of the World Economic Forum’s Climate Governance Initiative; it helps Russian board members to sharpen their expertise in climate governance by organising regular dedicated and industry conferences to discuss the risks and opportunities posed by a low-carbon economy and to work with partners to create practical management tools aligned with Agenda 2030 and other sustainable development agendas.

Horizon CF focuses on providing advisory support for public Russian companies on corporate finance, corporate governance, IR, and sustainability. We have a 25-year track record of engaging with leading Russian and international financial institutions, as well as key Russian issuers.

A key aspect of Horizon CF’s collaboration with CGI Russia will be preparing joint ESG research papers, including through comprehensive surveys of major Russian companies from a variety of sectors.

ESG support is an integral part of any consultancy offering in today’s business world, and Horizon CF, being a leader in this field, will enable us to enhance the quality of the expertise we provide to CGI Russia members when implementing their climate strategy.

Olga Pascault, Founder and Chair of the Management Board at CGI Russia

For Horizon CF, as an ESG advisor to Russia’s leading energy and upstream companies, the climate agenda is one of the key aspects of sustainability. Through our work, we seek not only to boost the level and scope of disclosure at Russian corporations but also to persuade companies to adopt low-carbon technologies and emission reduction programmes. Over the past five to seven years, we have seen a dramatic shift in priorities, with key international investors going from ignoring climate issues to factoring in climate performance metrics as a key consideration when making investment decisions, as well as establishing dedicated analyst teams in-house..

Horizon CF has partnered with CGI Russia to promote the climate agenda at the board and management level, leveraging our 25 years of experience in the field. We hope that this partnership will enable more companies to step up to the challenges involved in reducing the impact we are having on the planet and its climate.
