The discussion focused on the transition to a national set of mandatory non-financial disclosure standards, and participants in hands-on sessions shared insights into the specifics of reporting and aligning the agendas to ensure companies contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Horizon CF representatives took the opportunity to share with participants their approaches to information disclosure and ESG reporting when working with Russia’s leading issuers, including Gazprom, FGC UES, Rosseti, Gazprom Neft, and many more.

In recent years, ESG has come to play a key role in IR. When valuing companies, the line between value creation and sustainability is becoming increasingly blurred. By embedding ESG into our advice process, we can not only build effective dialogue with investors as providers of capital but also meet to a great extent the demands of most other stakeholders.

The most up-to-date ESG disclosure approaches are a hallmark of companies most responsive to emerging investor demands. Unfortunately, market regulators and methodologists are still playing catch-up. In order to bring some balance, market participants will need to develop uniform approaches, focusing on continuous dialogue with investors and keeping their finger on the pulse of current ESG trends.

The conference boasted more than 80 participants, including representatives of government bodies, regulators, consultancies, and think tanks, as well as leading Russian enterprises, banks, rating agencies, and other financial market players.
